Flags are made from a passionate feeling towards a nation, organization, or belief. It is important to understand the meaning of the colors before choosing what you may want to use for your message. Shapes and numbers may also have a significant importance to your message but that is another study. This listing is a very brief summary of the colors just to help get you started in your ministry.

Yellow: Faith that brings glory to God - father Abraham was a great example. Romans 4:20, He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.

Orange: Passionate praise - because you know that you know He loves you. Ephesians 3:19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Pink/Rose: New heart of flesh Ezekiel 11:19 "Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh.”

Red:  Blood of Jesus, for our salvation, restoration, and right relationships. Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Scarlet: Fine linen used in the tabernacle Exodus 26:31 "You shall make a veil woven of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen. It shall be woven with an artistic design of cherubim.”

Fuchsia:  Joy of right relationship with our Heavenly Father. Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life, in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Lilac: Rose of Sharon Song of Solomon 2:1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

Wine: New wine overflowing in abundance. Joel 2:24 The threshing floors shall be full of wheat and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.

Purple:  Royalty Ester 8:15 So Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, with a great crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

Blue/Sapphire:  Holy Spirit, divine revelation of God’s law Hebrews 10:15 – 16 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,” This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,"

Teal/Turquoise/Aqua:  Healing river of God Revelation 22:1, 2 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Green: Life, 1 John 2:25, And this is the promise that He has promised us eternal life.

Amber:  The glory of God, fiery passion, flaming throne of God Ezekiel 1:4, Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

Bronze/Brass: Judgment upon sin, fires of testing, Ezekiel 1:7 Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves' feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze.

Gold:  Glory, purified out of the refining fire. Malachi 3:3, He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Silver:  The Word of God, redemption, salvation Matthew 27:9 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, "And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced.

Iridescent crystal: Cleansing work of the Holy Spirit. Ezekiel 1:22 The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads.

White:  Purity, the Bride of Christ Joel 2:16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and nursing babes; let the bridegroom go out from His chamber, and the bride from her dressing room.

Brown: End of a season Ecclesiastes 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted.

Black/Onyx:  Darkness, evil, sin, death Jude 12 – 13, These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; 13 raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
